EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

LEVEL UP YOUR TRAINING

I am seeking expressions of interest for a new class for students in years 10, 11 and 12.

Performance Lab is a specialist group training program designed for students who want to elevate their musical theatre training.

Classes bring together all three disciplines whilst also exploring a variety of key topics relating to the industry, including performance and audition technique.

It has been created for students who are dedicated and passionate about the arts, particularly those with ambitions to audition for full time theatre schools or public performances.

The Program

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    Performance Technique

Students will develop their performance quality as we explore acting through song, stage presence and choreographic story telling, both individually and as a group.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and half circle lines.

    Ensemble Collaboration

A shared learning environment helps to build confidence and self-belief, encouraging students to explore beyond their comfort zone in a safe and supportive space.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and circle lines.

    Inspiring Content

Together students will explore scenes and songs from a variety of shows, styles and genres, working on character development and expanding their knowledge of musicals, composers and choreographers.

  • Geometric drawing of an outline square with sections divided by vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines.

    Audition Technique

We will explore the fundamentals of auditioning, identifying the difference between a good audition and a great one, how to overcome nerves, and skills to develop the stamina and strength of mind to perform at our best even when the stakes are high.

EXPERT FACILITATION

The classes are designed and taught by Stacey Mills, former West End actress, choreographer and teacher, bringing over 10 years experience in the industry.

The classes combine this experience with inspiration from the students interests and ambitions, working together to fill in the gaps of knowledge that will best serve them as they move towards their goals.

Whilst experience isn’t essential, it is important to emphasise that this is not an entry level program. It is designed to elevate students who want to level up their training and are ready to commit to their progress in a supportive and collaborative environment.
